Dr. Deborah Anderson
To truly feel well — so you can fully step into your greatness and live your best life — you need it all. You need to wake up everyday feeling whole, alive, awake, energized and well — in body, mind, spirit and soul.
As a child, I had an overwhelming desire to make a difference in the lives of others around health and wellness. Becoming a naturopathic doctor was the perfect fit. It blended my science-nerd-brain with my compassionate heart and my love for the natural world.
However, when I started medical school, I was struggling with my health and it only continued to decline. Chronic fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, IBS, headaches, and brain fog were my constant companions. However, my passion to help others was stronger than my desire to take care of myself so I pushed through at the expense of my own well-being.
And then, shortly after I graduated medical school, it happened. My life changed in an instant.
It was the moment my husband — whom I deeply loved & adored — uttered the wrong 3 words: “I’m leaving you”. Excruciating grief, heartbreak, and depression consumed me. And, just like many of my patients, the trauma triggered a complete health crisis. All my symptoms intensified to the point where I struggled immensely at every moment of every day.
My purpose & passion suddenly lost its momentum. How could I guide others toward health when I felt so broken? I barely had the energy to get out of bed and make it over to the couch. How could I help people?
My life felt completely out of alignment. Every day was a struggle. I thought my best days were behind me and that I would never experience joy or health again. Then one night, after years of struggle, my wake up call came to me in a dream. In this dream, I met a wise sage that told me what I needed to hear.
When I awoke, I knew. It was time to heal.
My body was failing me and my spirit was crushed but I was finally ready to do whatever it took to feel whole again. I was put on this earth to leave it better than I found it. And, my own story of trauma, tragedy, pain & chronic illness was no accident. What I experienced was meant for me and it would catapult me into a future where I could help others emerge from their own struggle into health & well-being.
It took time. But I healed. I feel well again. And, I feel joy and gratitude for my journey.

About Dr. Anderson
Dr. Anderson received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine (ND) from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon, with Honors in Research and completed a postdoctoral residency focused on autoimmune and chronic disease.
In 2019, she completed a postdoctoral certification with the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) and is a certified functional medicine practitioner (IFMCP).
Prior to medical school, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Alabama, in Huntsville.
Having my own chronic health challenges helped me understand more deeply what my patients go through everyday.
On my journey, I healed from multiple root cause issues…including (but not limited to!): a gut parasite, chronic infections (including reactivated Epstein Barr virus), mycotoxin (mold) illness, toxic overload (including heavy metals), food sensitivities (& severe gluten sensitivity), major nutritional imbalances (caused by my genetics), hormonal imbalances and, of course, chronic stress and trauma.
I had developed autoimmune antibodies, and given my positive family history of autoimmune disorders, it was only a matter of time before I developed an autoimmune diagnosis.
The Anderson Approach®️ is deeply rooted in my own experience of self-healing. I had to strategize, prioritize and thoroughly investigate my own health before I came up with a healing plan that worked.
What started as a desire to just feel better turned into a sacred healing journey — one that completely transformed the way I see health and how I approach life.
And, it transformed how I work with patients.
I believe that being “healthy” isn’t enough. It’s not enough to have fewer symptoms and no autoimmune antibodies. It’s not enough to be in remission.
To truly feel well — so you can fully step into your greatness and live your best life — you need it all. You need to wake up everyday feeling whole, alive, awake, energized and well — in body, mind, spirit and soul.
That is the vision I hold for my patients. That they, too, will heal. So they can be their best and share their greatness with the world.
If you’re ready to take the next steps on your sacred journey, I’d be honored to be your guide.
